RO BANDEIRINHA

Ro (pronoun indifferent) is a cultural organizer, artist, and architect currently pursuing a PhD in architecture. Originally from Portugal, Ro has lived and worked across Europe and the Americas, studying in the Netherlands, practicing architecture for five years in Madrid, and traveling for nine months through South America and along the Amazon River. These diverse experiences have profoundly shaped their perspective on the world, deepening their understanding of urban environments, cultural landscapes, and complexity and contradiction. As founder and Creative Director of Constructive Alchemy, Ro helps nonprofits and businesses amplify their impact through strategic communications and design. Their passion for public art is evident in projects such as LGBTQ Legacy in Salt Lake City—a portrait installation on Main Street—and Urbe, a bridge panel piece in the Three Creek Confluence representing our consciousness of city life. Ro’s PhD research deepens their exploration of spatial narratives, cultural landscapes, and urban planning. Whether through art, architecture, or communication, Ro is dedicated to creating work that fosters understanding, belonging, and meaningful engagement with space and society.
